Rafah
About the Municipality
Rafah was considered one of the Palestinian villages and therefore the first village council was established in 1952, where it provided services to citizens. With the development of the city and the increase in the population and the expansion of its influence and services, it became necessary to change the status of Rafah from village to city. A municipal council on 27/9/1972.

About the City
Rafah is today one of the five governorates in the Gaza Strip. The municipality of Al-Shoka and Al-Nasr Municipality are located to the north-east. Rafah is comprised of 15 districts and communities: Al-Mawasi, Tal Al-Sultan, , Khirbet al-Adas, Al-Salam neighborhood, Al-Janniniya, Al-Biok, Al-Hayy Al-Adabi
