About the Municipality
The Al Shoka Projects Committee was established in 1996 and was raised in 1999 to a village council and then to a municipality in 2004. The new Municipal Council took office on 25/02/2005. It consists of 11 members and is headed by Mr. Mansour Brik .

About the City
Shoka area is located in the south-east of the Gaza Strip, which is bordered on the western side by Rafah and separated by Salah El-Din Street from the city. It is bordered to the south by the crossing point to the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Egyptian-Palestinian border. Al Fakhari area. The village of Shoka is divided into three geographical areas: the southern fork, the middle fork and the northern fork, all of which extend from the eastern fork to Salah al-Din Street in the west. Al-Safa Committee, Al-Rabat Committee, Al-Sahaba Committee, and Al-Shuhada Al Shamali Committee. The Shoka area is of great strategic importance as it can be considered as the gate of the Gaza Strip to the outside world, where the Gaza International Airport, the Return to Egypt and the Sufa Crossing are also located.
