About the Municipality

The first village council was established in 1997 with nine members. The village council continued its work until 2004 and in 2004 the village council was transferred to a municipality. By the end of 2005, municipal elections were held in the valley of Salqa. The municipal council was elected for four years with an extension for another year. A new seven-member council

About the City

The village of Wadi Salqa was a crossing and a road for Mamluks and Turks. In the village there is the tomb of Abu Ubaida al-Jarrah. In the village there was a post office for the Mamluks. Wadi Salqa was a land that collects its proceeds and is sent to Mecca. The Wadi al-Salqa area is located to the southeast of Deir al- Deir al-Balah and to the west of Salah al-Din Street and to the south of the street Ksofim and Qarara and to the east of the Green Line.
