Starting the daily work in Al-Fukhari new sanitary landfill and closing the Deir al-Balah landfill

The Joint Services Council for solid waste management in the governorates of Khan Younis, Rafah and the Middle Area has announced the start of the official work in Al-Fukhari new landfill on Monday, July 15, 2019. The collection vehicles of the Council, Municipalities and the UNRWA started to arrive from noon.

The working staff of the Council has handled the solid waste that came to the landfill according to the criteria that have been determined in advance to operate the landfill. The new landfill will receive approximately 700 tons of solid waste per day collected from all the Middle and southern governorates of the Gaza Strip. On the other hand, the Council closed the Deir Al Balah landfill and announced that no waste will be received at the Deir Al Balah landfill starting from today.
