A tour to Al-Fukhari sanitary landfill made by American International School students

On Wednesday, 30/10/2019, number of High school students at the American International School in Gaza city visited Al-Fukhari sanitary landfill, In order to see how the sanitary landfill works and operates, and to know the mechanisms and methods of solid waste treatment.

The students were greeted and welcomed by Eng. Samir Matar Environmental Specialist, Eng. Tamer Abu Zomar, head of the landfill section and Eng. Enas Qandeel, Public Information and Outreach Officer, and they gave detailed presentation on the journey of solid waste from generating process, treatment to disposal. Then the visitors were informed of the environmental and health safety procedures and they introduced to the engineering, environmental and social standards in the establishment and operation of landfill and transfer station.

Then Environmental science students at the school made a presentation to their classmates to emphasize the role of man in preserving the environment through proper disposal of solid waste.
