Supply of heavy machinery for Al-Fukhari sanitary landfill

Seven heavy machinery from abroad arrived at Al-Fukhari sanitary landfill in order to carry out daily disposal operations inside the landfill. The JSC-KRM received these new mechanisms through the Municipal Development & Lending Fund of Local Authorities within the project of solid waste management in the Gaza Strip.

The machinery received are seven heavy machinery, which are two large bulldozers, two landfill compactor, one wheel loader,  Backhoe Loader and a skid steer loader (Bobcat). It is worth mention that three other mechanisms have already been introduced: a vacuum pump and a dump truck, so that the total number of vehicles received by the JSC-KRM is ten, which is required for daily operations inside the new landfill.

These heavy vehicles will contribute to the day-to-day operational management of Al-Fukhari sanitary Landfill that serves the Council's area of influence, which include of more than 60% of the geographical area of the Gaza Strip or approximately 850,000 residents of the middle Area, Khan Younis and Rafah  governorates . The vehicles entered the Gaza Strip in two installments through the Beit Hanoun and Kerem Abu Salem crossings.

It is worth mention that the new capacity of Al-Fukhari sanitary Landfill is about 2.2 million cubic meters of household waste in the first stage.
