Visit of a JICA delegation to the Medical Waste Treatment Unit in the Council
Dr. Ali Barhoum, Executive Director of the JSC-KRM welcomes a delegation from the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), where the delegation visited the medical waste unit of the Council and the new Al-Fukhari landfill.
The visit comes in order to discuss the latest developments in the medical waste management project and evaluate the collection and treatment system. It is worth mentioning that the Council has been implementing a project for the management of medical waste since 2017 in the middle and southern areas of the Gaza Strip. The project is funded by JICA, through which all supplies for collection, transportation, treatment and final disposal were supplied, In addition to create a treatment unit "Autoclave" in the southern Gaza Strip.
The project targets all primary care clinics of the Ministry of Health, UNRWA and UNRWA in the southern and middle governorates of the Gaza Strip, as well as the laboratory and kidney sections of Shifa Hospital and Médecins Sans Frontières.
